Getting Started
Downloading and installing Trust Wallet
Accessing and downloading Trust Wallet is easy either as a mobile app on your Android or iOS device or as a browser extension. If you aren’t sure about the links, head to the Trust Wallet.com download page for links to the different options.
Install Trust Wallet on your desktop browser
First, let’s take a look at how you install Trust Wallet for your desktop browser. You can use Trust Wallet as a browser extension on Chrome, Brave, Opera, and Edge browsers.
Go to https://trustwallet.com/download.
You’ll be redirected to the page below. Select ‘Download for Chrome.’
Note: Brave, Opera, and Edge browsers are compatible with the Chrome option.
Next, click on the ‘Add to Chrome’ button to download the Trust Wallet Browser Extension on your desktop.
The Trust Wallet Browser Extension will then be active on your browser for you to use as you please.
Install Trust Wallet on your mobile device
Let’s take a step-by-step guide on how to set up the Trust Wallet app on your mobile device.
Go to https://trustwallet.com/download to install Trust Wallet.
Then, open the app and click on ‘Get Started’ to start the setup process.
By clicking on ‘Get Started,’ you will automatically show that you agree and consent to Trust Wallet’s ‘Terms of Service’ and ‘Privacy Policy’.
Next, select ‘Create a new wallet.’ Trust Wallet will require you to back up your secret phrase. You can choose to back up your secret phrase manually or to Google Drive, iCloud, in the case of iOS devices.
For this guide, we’ll select the ‘Back up manually’ option.
To manually back up your Trust Wallet, you’ll need to note down a 12-word secret passcode that will allow you to recover your wallet in case you lose access to it or change your smartphone device.
Remember to accept the Trust Wallet guidelines as shown below, then click on ‘Continue.’
Next, write down the 12-word secret phrase in the order shown and click on ‘Continue.’
You’ll need to select only four random words of your seed phrase in the number they were shown as. Select the four words and click ‘Confirm.’
You’ll then have to create a six-digit passcode or set up your biometric protection (fingerprint or FaceID). This will help provide an extra layer of security when using Trust Wallet.
Next, confirm your passcode and proceed to back up your wallet.
And that’s it! You have successfully created your Trust Wallet and are ready to start using the app to buy, sell, and swap 1M+ digital currencies and tokens on your smartphone.
Remember, storing your secret phrase securely is important. Losing your 12-word secret phrase means losing access to your account and funds.
There are various ways that you can store your Trust Wallet secret phrase. For starters, you can write it down on a piece of paper and keep it in a secure place or store it inside your Password Manager.
Alternatively, you can also engrave your secret phrase on a metal sheet. Now that you know how to download and create your Trust Wallet account, let’s take a look at how you can import a wallet on the app.
Importing an existing wallet
When importing another wallet to your Trust Wallet you’ll need to get the secret phrase:

For other wallets the process is similar. Be sure to check the appropriate support material for that wallet.
Once you find your secret phrase, note it down.
Next, open Trust Wallet and you can either select Settings or the wallet selector dropdown.
Choose “Add existing wallet”, when presented the setup options.
Choose the “Secret phrase” option.
Select “Multi-Coin Wallet” if you want to be able to manage all your crypto assets with one wallet, or choose an individual blockchain.
Paste in your secret phrase or type it in the same order that you have it written down, then select “Restore wallet”.
And that’s it, your wallet is now imported.
Main Wallet Features
Trust Wallet has multiple features that users can use to make the most out of the crypto wallet. Below, we will take a look at some of the key functions and features the app has.
How to buy crypto with Trust Wallet
To buy Bitcoin with Trust Wallet, go to your Main Wallet, click on ‘Bitcoin,’ and then select ‘Buy’.
Next, type in the amount of BTC you want to buy.
Once you key in the amount you want to spend, click on ‘Buy with Credit card’ to continue with the purchase.
Note: It’s important to note that Trust Wallet does not sell crypto. Thus, all crypto purchases will be made via third-party providers.
Alternatively, you can also click on the ‘Pay with Credit’ button and select from the third-party provider list a provider you want to buy BTC from based on the rates that work for you.
For this guide, we are choosing MoonPay as the third-party provider to buy BTC.
After selecting MoonPay, Trust Wallet will redirect you to the MoonPay website to complete the purchase. With MoonPay, you can choose the currency you want to purchase BTC with.
MoonPay will then show you the amount of BTC you will get into your Trust Wallet once the transaction is successful.
Next, confirm the amount entered on the MoonPay site and click on ‘Continue.
Next, MoonPay will ask you to enter your email address and click on ‘Continue.’ This will allow the provider to send you a six-digit verification code.
Proceed to enter the verification code and click on ‘Continue.’
From there, MoonPay will require you to enter personal details like your name, date of birth, billing address, and debit card details. Next, confirm the transaction.
If your purchase is successful, you’ll receive a notification of the same, and your BTC will be deposited into your Trust Wallet as soon as possible.
Sending and receiving crypto & NFTs
Sending and receiving crypto and NFTs on different blockchains is simple with Trust Wallet. Let’s have a look at how it works.
Sending and receiving crypto
In this example, we’ll use Bitcoin (BTC), although Trust Wallet allows you to send, receive, and manage 10M+ assets.
To send and receive Bitcoin using your Trust Wallet, go to the Main Wallet and click on ‘Bitcoin.’
Then, click on ‘Send.’
Next, enter the wallet address that you want to send BTC to and the amount, then click on ‘Continue’ at the top right-hand corner of your screen.
Always ensure that you have enough Bitcoin in your wallet to also cover the transaction fee.
Proceed to confirm and complete the transaction. You will be able to see the transaction under your Bitcoin tab.
To receive Bitcoin, click on the ‘Receive’ option and copy or directly share your Bitcoin wallet address with yourself or the person sending you the BTC.
Once they can successfully process the transaction, you will get a notification from Trust Wallet, and the transaction will be recorded under your Bitcoin tab.
Sending and receiving NFTs
Sending and receiving NFTs using Trust Wallet is similar to sending and receiving cryptocurrencies. However, for NFTs, you will need to choose the network that you want to receive the NFT through.
To receive an NFT:
Click on the NFT option and then click on ‘Receive.’
Next, choose the Ethereum network and proceed to copy the wallet address and share it with the person who wants to send you the NFT.
To send an NFT, you first need to choose the NFT you want to transfer. Next, select the network that you want to use to send your NFT, follow the prompts, and then click on ‘Send.’
Remember, you need to have the network’s native tokens for you to be able to send an NFT as you will need to pay for the transaction fees.
Next, paste the wallet address that you want to send the NFT to and confirm the transfer.

As a Trust Wallet user, you can easily connect to all your favorite decentralized applications (dApps). It’s as easy as going to your Trust Wallet app and clicking on the ‘Browser’ button in the menu at the bottom.
There you can type in the specific dApp you would like to access or scroll through a range of popular dApps.
Besides using the Trust Wallet dApp Browser to connect to Web3 applications, you can also use dApps that aren’t natively supported by Trust Wallet. To do this, you’ll need to connect to the specific dApp via WalletConnect.
WalletConnect is an open-source protocol that enables you to connect decentralized applications to mobile crypto wallets, such as Trust Wallet, using deep linking or QR code scanning. This makes it easy for you to secretly transact on Trust Wallet without revealing your personal information.
Below is a step-by-step guide on how you can access dApps on Trust Wallet using WalletConnect. In this guide, we will use PancakeSwap to demonstrate. PancakeSwap is a decentralized platform that enables you to earn, trade, and win cryptocurrencies.
To connect to dApps on Trust Wallet using WalletConnect on your smartphone, go to the official website of PancakeSwap - https://pancakeswap.finance.
Always ensure that you visit the official website of the dApp you want to use. Then, click on ‘Connect’ and choose ‘Trust Wallet’.
Next, Trust Wallet will notify you that you are visiting a third-party dApp on the PancakeSwap website. Click on ‘Continue’.
You will then be redirected to the Trust Wallet app with the same caution. Again, click on ‘Continue’ to proceed.
Once you click on ‘Continue,’ you will be redirected to the Trust Wallet app to authorize the PancakeSwap dApp to connect to Trust Wallet.
Once successfully connected, you can click on the wallet icon to confirm the network connection and also change the blockchain network.
And that’s it! That’s how to connect to dApps using Trust Wallet and WalletConnect. Always remember to disconnect your wallet once you are done carrying out your transactions.
Stake crypto and earn rewards
With Trust Wallet, you can stake your crypto directly in the app and earn rewards with a few clicks.
Go on the Trust Wallet app and click on ‘Discover’ then ‘Staking’ and then select the token you want to stake.
Select the token you want to stake.
For this guide, we will use BNB as an example. If you don’t have any BNB tokens, start by following the Trust Wallet prompt to ‘Buy BNB.’
Once your BNB tokens have been deposited to your Trust Wallet, click on ‘Start earning’ and then ‘Staking.’
Next, enter the amount of BNB tokens you want to stake and click on ‘Continue’ to complete the transaction and start staking.
How to swap crypto
With Trust Wallet, you can swap crypto on the same chain or cross chain. Here’s how the process works.
Select “Swap” from the home screen (located in the bottom row).
Search for the network and asset you want to swap from, and swap to.
Choose the amount you want to swap.
Select “Continue” and review the details.
Then confirm your swap.
