SAT® School Day: Everything You Need To Know (2024)

The SAT® School Day provides an opportunity for high school students to take the SAT digitally during class time on a regular school day. You can take the SAT digitally through this program if your school and/or district participate(s) in the College Board®'s SAT School Day program.

Taking the test on a School Day allows students to easily register for the test, request a fee waiver, and avoid having to travel to an unfamiliar testing location. Furthermore, your scores on the SAT School Day are just as valid as regular SAT scores. Let's take a look at a few more benefits the SAT School Day program has to offer:

  • Your school takes care of the digital SAT registration process and testing accommodations.
  • You take the digital SAT on a weekday during school hours.
  • Your digital SAT test fees might be waived.
  • You get 4 free score sends.

SAT School Day Eligibility and Registration

If your school participates in the program, you are eligible to take the SAT digitally on a School Day during your junior or senior year. Your school will process the registration and fee waivers. Before test registration, reach out to your school counselor or principal to determine whether you need to submit any extra paperwork. Also, remember to ask for the Student ID Form, which you need to carry on your test day.

If you require accommodations for your school exams, you might be eligible to place accommodations requests for taking the digital SAT, as well. Remember to fill out the consent forms and get them signed by your guardian or parent before submitting them to the school counselor well in advance of test day.

The standard cost for taking the digital SAT is $60. However, your high school may offer the SAT for free or at a reduced fee. The College Board also offers a Digital SAT School Day Student Questionnaire to help students with the test-taking process and guide them on where to send the free score reports.
